Jakarta, Sept 2 (ANTARA Lampung) - The People's Consultative Assembly (MPR) calls for maintaining national security and stability in facing the global uncertainties.

"We need to maintain security  and stability that investors feel convenient in doing business in the country," MPR speaker Zulkifli Hasan  said here on Wednesday.

Zulkifli reminded all that Indonesia itself is facing economic uncertainty as a result of the global condition.

Executive Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) Christine Lagarde also warned of the impact of the global economic uncertainty, but she was confident Indonesia would be able to avert worse impact.

Lagarde who was here to attend a meeting between the IMF and Bank Indonesia, met President Joko Widodo discussing global economic issue .

"She said we have good preparations in facing the difficulty," President Joko Widodo told reporters after the meeting.

Earlier, Parliament speaker Setya Novanto cautioned the government against the global economic woes  and asked to make the state budget as an instrument for stability  in economic development for the people's welfare.

"The 2016 state budget as a national instrument is expected to be effective in creating stability in economic development," Setya Novanto said in a plenary session of the House of Representatives here last week.

He said amid the turbulent period of time, greater caution is needed in the management and implementation of the state budget.

The government should be more serious in addressing price stability  and supply of basic necessities which are more sensitive to trigger inflation , he said.

Meanwhile, the influential Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) asked the business people to optimize business opportunity  in the regions to cope with the country's economic slump.

"Considering the fact that regional administrations hold the  licensing authority, regional Kadin should observe the effectiveness of non-integrated projects," Kadin general chairman  Suryo Bambang Sulisto  said.

Suryo Bambang said Kadin members should be able to detect and grab any opportunity  in the regions especially with the priority in development of infrastructure in the sectors of agriculture, fisheries, creative economy  and tourism.

"Investment and business opportunities are open wider in the reghions," he said.

He said development of regional potential based projects to start from suburban areas as planned  by President Joko Widodo would need integration in planning.
