Indonesia Runs After Malaysia in Medal Tally

Incheon, Sept 28 (ANTARA Lampung) - As of the ninth day or Sunday of the Asian Games 2014 in Incheon, South Korea, Indonesia ran after Malaysia after it gained two gold, three silver and seven bronze medals.

Indonesia now secures 14th place or is up three rankings in the provisional medal tally or below Malaysia that ranks 13th.

The Indonesian men's doubles Ahsan/Hendra Setiawan presented a second gold medal for Indonesia in the badminton event of the Asian Games 2014 here on Sunday.

The Indonesian pair defeated South Korea's men's doubles Yoo Yeonseong/Lee Yongdae through a long set with a score of 21-16, 16-21, 21-17 in the men's doubles final
"This victory becomes impressive experience to us because we are not sure that we will be able to play in the Asian Games in the four years to come," Hendra Setiawan pointed out.

On Thursday, Indonesia slipped to 18th place, down from the 8th place days earlier (Sept 20), in the provisional medal tally of the 2014 Asian Games in South Korea.
